SANpulse offers a highly customizable, wide range of reports for its software products. These reports are a composite of demands from various customers and can answer important questions about the SAN environment from different levels of operation:

• executive – referencing utilization, capacity risk, and demand
• managerial – referencing allocation, configurations, and business continuity
• engineering – referencing configurations, fabrics, servers, arrays, and all details of data collection
• departmental/applications – referencing provisioning, allocation, and capacity.

The reporting facility provides storage administrators with a user interface from which they can construct ad hoc reports based on a variety of specifications, such as selecting x and y variables from groups of independent and dependent variables in the database or creating “group by” categories to expand or limit the dimensions of a report. The resulting reports and associated graphs can be saved and exported so that they can be used in slides and presentations.
